Lifeguard App to help prevent overdose death

September; Recovery Month in Canada and the US, has passed us by quickly and into a new season we head. With Fall leaves changing, Gratitude fills our hearts for the month of October. We are grateful and blessed to live a clean and sober life today and be able to offer clean and sober apparel to build awareness and help end the stigma attached to addiction.

Unfortunately, in the province of BC the opioid crisis is a daily reminder of what addiction does to us and those we love. Recently a new app has been created to assist with safe using. The Lifeguard app works in a way that when the user is unresponsive it alerts emergency responders automatically. In the first 60 days of initiating this app, which can be downloaded on Apple App Store or Google App store, it saved 9 lives. 90% of accidental overdose deaths happen when people use drugs alone.

Being informed and learning how to use a Nalaxone kit helps save lives. There are many ways to get involved or partner in helping end stigma, build awareness and be part of the solution to the opioid crisis.
